What is Coaching?
Coaching is a structured conversation where you identify what you wish to develop. We have coached people in areas such as:
- Handling pressure
- Improving work/life balance
- Stepping into a new role
- Working on problems that feel insurmountable
- Reaching more of your potential.
We work confidentially and in an equal partnership between coach and client. Each conversation will help you to better understand your situation and gain fresh insight. Consequently, this empowers clients to gain more control of situations and take positive steps to move forward in a sustainable way. Learning is at the core of our approach, so you will inevitably become more self-aware as a result of the coaching process.
Who do we coach?
We have an extensive track record of coaching provision. Indeed, our coaches have worked with staff in a wide variety of situation within organisations, including:
- Senior leaders
- Project delivery teams
- Line managers
- Rising talent
Our approach starts with listening very carefully to what the objective is. What are you actually trying to achieve? The result might be a short one-to-one coaching assignment to help someone settle in to a new role. Alternatively, it might be a complete programme of coaching to enable your organisation to progress.
Annovista’s coaching clients cross many sectors including banking, government, retail, education and IT. At any point in time, we usually have a wide range of clients, covering many interesting assignments.
Our Coaching Expertise
Annovista’s coaches use a variety of models and tools to help move people forwards. We only use coaches who are accredited with globally recognised credentials. All of our coaches are accredited and we work in accordance with the International Coach Federation’s code of ethics. The ICF is typically considered to be the global ‘gold standard’ coaching body for accredited coaches.
We love the impact that coaching has and we have found highly effective ways of incorporating coaching into wider-ranging change management programmes. So coaching has to be purposeful and clearly aligned with the desired culture of the organisation. Our inquiry-based approach to organisational development helps us achieve this.
We offer specialist coaching for all those involved in managing and delivering projects. Our deep experience of the project and change management world helps our coaches to quickly understand and appreciate the specific situations project delivery teams face. We’ve been doing this for a long time now and built up a lot of experience and expertise.
Roles we have coached:
- Board members
- Sponsors and SROs
- Project and programme managers
- Change agents
- Change managers
- PMO staff
Our CEO wrote a chapter on Coaching in the Project Environment as part of the APM’s ‘emerging trends series’. Read Coaching in the project environment here.
Mental Toughness assessments: MTQ48
So, how effectively do you and your colleagues deal with stress, pressure and challenge? Mental toughness describes the mindset that we adopt in everything we do and is closely related to qualities such as character, resilience and grit. This means we can actually measure these areas with the MTQ tool; a 48 item, high-quality psychometric measure. Many psychometrics measure behaviours (how we act) and attributes (how we feel). In contrast, MTQ focusses on how we think, which drives our behaviour. Research has distilled Mental Toughness into:
Published research and case studies from around the world now show that Mental Toughness is a major factor in:
- Performance – explaining up to 25% of the variation in performance in individuals
- Positive Behaviour – more engaged, more positive, more “can do”
- Wellbeing – more contentment, better stress management, less prone to bullying
- Aspirations – more ambitious, prepared to manage more risk
Annovista can provide official Licensed Mental Toughness assessments to you and your team.
