What is PRINCE2™?

PRINCE2™ (Projects in Controlled Environments) is a UK government owned project management methodology. It is a process-driven approach to project management, and is expanding rapidly on the international scene. It is a universal methodology for projects large and small.

In short, the method breaks the management of a project down into 7 major steps (known as processes). Whilst undertaking each process, guidance is given on 7 common themes, such as the management of risk, quality in a project environment and setting up the right organisation structure.

The method is simply a tool, so the secret to success is in the way that the methodology is applied.
